Morgan Knight (Guess)

Where are you now?

Richland High School, Richland, MS

Why did you choose to come to MSU?

I chose Mississippi State University because State offered me so many great opportunities in a place I knew I could one day call home. After visiting for an insight on the College of Education, I realized I wanted to spend the next four years in a place rich with tradition, history, and academic excellence. I also appreciated the architecture on campus and the sense of family MSU offered. As an Oak Grove alum, the “more cowbell” attitude was nothing new and reminded me of my hometown.

How did the METP program enhanced your college experience at Mississippi State?

It was amazing to be part of a group with common interests and goals that I could call my family. The program offered me many opportunities and connections I would not have had otherwise. Through cross campus visits, I established professional experience and insight to the teaching career that I have taken with me after graduation.

What were some of your on-campus involvements outside of METP?

I was a part of the Beta Mu chapter of Delta Delta Delta. It provided me with many social and community service opportunities I would not have had otherwise. I was also a part of the Shackouls Honors College.

Please share a funny moment/interesting fact about yourself.

At my first visit to MSU for the Academic Insight previously mentioned, I won my first cowbell. From then on, I knew the right decision was to be a part of the Bulldog Family.
