Where are you now? DeSoto Central Middle School, Southaven, MS

Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education? Mississippi State University was close to home - yet big enough to get away from "small town high school life." I was so blessed to receive the METP scholarship, so going there was a no-brainer! I loved kids and wanted to make a difference in their lives. METP gave me the opportunity to make that impact and leave college debt free!

How did METP enhanced your college experience at Mississippi State? This program gave me some of the closest and best friends I'd ever had in such a short time. This program and my fellow scholars made the college transition easier for sure!

What do you want others to know about you? I love to travel! I've been to France, England, Canada, Mexico and many states in America! I hope to visit Italy, Germany, Australia, and Scotland one day!

What were some of your other involvements on campus? I was involved with Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Phi Lambda. I also was involved with the College of Education Ambassadors, Dance Marathon, Fashion Board, Access Peer Mentor, the Baptist Student Union, and Intramurals.

Funny moment/Interesting Fact? I can now swing dance! College came with many surprises, and I never thought I'd ever be able to have any rhythm whatsoever. That's life I guess!
