Where are you now?

West Lauderdale Middle School in Meridian, MS

Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education? I chose MSU because my heart felt at home there. Everyone was so welcoming, and I could tell they truly cared about their students and faculty. I loved the atmosphere of it, because students get to experience the feeling of an SEC school while getting to have the bond of a smaller school. Everything about MSU was perfect, and I knew this was where God was calling me to be!

What do you want people to know about you? I am a people person! I love interacting with people and getting to know them. I have a passion for people, and I hope I can be a light to them when they feel alone. I want to make a difference in the lives of others. I want to change the world. I also love to travel, hunt, and read books. I'm a fairly loud person with an outgoing personality, and I love to have fun. I love to sing, but most importantly, I am completely in love with my God. I love worshipping HIM. I love reaching out to people, and I hope I exemplify what it means to follow Him. I hope that I can change the world and lead people to Him!

What activities are you involved in on campus (outside of METP)? I was involved in New Maroon Camp and the Honors College. I joined other clubs (like the Disney Club) and found a great church/Christian fellowship group.

What advice would you give to entering freshmen or students finishing up high school? Never take anything for granted, because it could be gone in the blink of an eye. Always pursue the things that set your soul on fire, because if there's no passion in what you do, you will never be able to give 100%. Don't ever forget where your roots are because they made you who you are. Stay strong in the Lord, and surround yourself with people who build you up. Focus on your education because it leads to your career. Love your life and the people in it because no one is promised tomorrow. Lastly, don't ever be afraid to ask for or offer help - even one word of advice could change your life or someone else's life.
