Where are you now? Delisle Elementary School, Pass Christian, MS
Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?
I come from a long line of MSU graduates. It was almost as if it was a rite of passage in my family to be accepted and to attend MSU. Though I did not enter as a freshman, I always knew that I would end up here because it felt like home. Since I was little I had heard nothing but good things about the education program there, and I could not wait to be a part of it.
What do you want people to know about you?
Though I was born in Pearl, MS, I am a coast girl at heart! I love being by the water, and I spend as much time there as I can. I love meeting new people, but I can be a little shy at first. Some of my hobbies include playing soccer, taking naps, online shoe shopping, doing word or number puzzles, or loving on my babies at my job at a daycare.
Who had had the biggest impact on your life? Why?
My mom has had the biggest impact on my life. As a teacher herself, I got to watch as my mom did her job with joy and a true passion for teaching. She showed me how important it is that children need teachers that care and are willing to go the extra step for them. It is because of her that I developed such a strong interest in teaching early on and continue to pursue that interest today.
What activities were you currently involved in?
I was involved in National Society for Collegiate Scholars.
