Where are you now?

Pascagoula High School in Pascagoula, MS

Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

Ever since I can remember, Math has always been my favorite subject; therefore, I knew that my career choice would have to involve a multitude of it. I chose to live my passion through education because I know that is one of the most effective ways to make a difference and shape the future. Furthermore, I feel like diversifying the profession, on both a gender and racial basis, would reduce conduct issues by African-American students. Even though I visited many colleges on my quest to find the one, none of them compared to Mississippi State. From the very first moment I drove past the welcome sign, I knew that State was the college for me.

What do you want people to know about you?

I want people to know that I am a very outspoken, yet chill person. I enjoy laughing and spending time with my family and friends. In my estimation, I  embody excellence, passion, and sophistication. Additionally, I feel that laughter is the best remedy for any problems that life may bring: My favorite quote of encouragement is "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade."

Who has had the biggest impact on your life? Why?

My mother has had the biggest impact of my life because she has taught me to be diligent and always stand firm on my beliefs. I have watched her go the unthinkable and the impossible to make sure that my siblings and me were well taken care of and content. The way she transcends above any inhibition in her life is truly remarkable and for that, I truly admire her and hope to be as good a father as she is a mother to my children one day.
