Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

I have always loved the MSU campus and the atmosphere it holds.  I could not imagine a better school to attend to receive a degree in education. Helping my peers with classwork during high school and the Teacher Academy program helped me discover that teaching is my passion.

What do you want people to know about you?

I've always had a love for helping out others and like to think of myself as a giver. As a very outgoing and social person, I try to always keep an open mind and embrace diversity as often as possible. Living in New York for most of my childhood helped me to gain such an extroverted personality and has expanded my view of the world.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life? Why?

My junior year English teacher was one of the many people that have impacted my life in a major way.  Prior to meeting Mrs. Bennett, I thought I wanted to teach elementary.  Being in her calssroom setting and seeing what she was able to do with her students and the literature we read led me to discover my calling to be an English teacher.  Aside from my career, Mrs. Bennett was someone I leaned on for advice in all aspects of my life.
