Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

My first two years of college I attended a local community college.  When I graduated I knew I wanted to go to a college that treasured relationships as much as the last school I went to. I came and toured MSU and knew this was the place for me. The education advisor I talked to on my tour was very helpful and was able to lay out the route I shouild take in education and the different opportunities I would be presented with from going to MSU. I chose to study education because I have always wanted to help people and have always wanted to work with children.  Nothing is better than that feeling you feel when you are helping students achieve their goals, and that is what teachers do.

What do you want people to know about you?

I graduated Amory High School in 2019 and then graduated from Itawamba Community College in 2021.  I began attending MSU in the fall of 2021.

What advice would you give to entering freshmen or students finishing up high school?

Keep your mind open to what you want to be.  Do not just follow what you are being told to do.
