Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

I decided to attend MSU because of the loving family atmosphere that is found throughout all of campus. Being from the north, I was nervous that I wouldn’t feel at home at Mississippi State, but I was proved wrong! During my visits, everyone made me feel welcomed and showed that they cared for me. Also, the education programs at MSU are excellent, and I knew it would prepare me for being a teacher. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to become a teacher because I was so inspired by my own teachers. I love helping students achieve their highest potential, challenge their limits, and learn new things!

What do you want people to know about you?

I am a fourth generation bulldog! Also, in high school, I was very involved in my school’s drama club, so I hope to continue being involved in theater throughout my life!

What advice would you give to entering freshmen or students finishing up high school?

Don’t be so focused on your next stage of life, that you miss out on the one you’re currently in. Don’t overlook all the wonderful opportunities you have in high school because you’re so focused on moving on to college. Invest in the people and moments God has placed in your life right now! You only get to do high school once, so make the best of it! When you’re in college, don’t be so focused on your upcoming career that you miss out on the people and the memories that you could make during your years at your university. Make sure to get involved and reach out to others. Don’t ignore or neglect the future, but don’t let it rule your life!
